Dress for Fall While It’s Still Hot

The first official day of fall is September 22 and it’s still hot as hell outside, learn how I dress with cool fall elements without burning up.

Although we are still in the “end of summer” I am still in the autumn spirit baking pumpkin coffee cake and pinning everything under the sun that is fall related. I have always loved this time of year because there are back to back holidays and fun activities to look forward too (I will make a post on that later). Anyhow, back to fashion, if you are itching to incorporate some fall vibes into your style over the next few weeks, try incorporating deep colors (see my previous post here), dark jeans and very light scarves. Learning to dress for the in-between seasons only requires a little work and in return, is a lot of fun.

Also in the photos is my dear friend Karly Freytag. She is a model, a mother and a kick ass person altogether! We had so much fun doing this shoot together and while she looked like a pro, I was just trying to keep up with the poses 🙂

For some fall incorporation, look for tops and/or accessories in the color realm of rust or rose gold. This is a great transitional color that you will begin to see in stores more often because it is an official pantone of 2016. There are actually three pantones this year that are similar (at least to me) and officially they are: Aurora Red, Dusty Cedar and Potters Clay.

They are totally similar, right?! Anyway, they are great warm colors that can go with a lot. I decided to pair my sweater with black denim so my sweater would be the focal point of my outfit. Karly paired her blue denim jeans with a suede rust top so that the texture really stood out.
